Ikat fabrics are particularly a distinctive feature of Orissan (now Odishan) textiles. The term Ikat is derived from a south east Asian word and reflects the ancient maritime trade between Orissa and Indonesia. Here we have chosen to translate this ancient woven technique by digitally printing the design, masterfully capturing the layers and form of the original art. Also available in Slate and Ocean.
