Tomorrow, Saturday 18th June will mark three years since we lost our beloved founder William Yeoward to cancer. This year also marks the fifth anniversary of the launch of the Screw Cancer charity to realise William’s vision of an easy-to-use app designed to help those with cancer navigate an adjusted life.

Sadly we no longer have William with us but what a legacy he has left behind. The Cancer App now supports 24 major cancers making it relevant and helpful to so many people living with cancer in line with William’s ambition. The app has lots of useful features including medication reminders and the ability to store documents, appointments and contacts alongside a huge range of information about the individual cancers, helping patients to navigate their treatment journey as well as deal with the life-affecting aspects of their disease in areas such as mental health and fertility.

The app is now officially approved by the NHS for the quality of its clinical information - a huge step forward in our work to partner with other cancer charities and healthcare providers to reach as many patients as possible.

We know William would be delighted at how well his brilliant idea has been received but most of all how it is helping people living with cancer. As Pete, a head and neck cancer patient said,  “at last cancer patients can have at their fingertips all the vital information they need from initial diagnoses and treatment to post-treatment recovery periods, and all on their smartphone with The Cancer App!”
