How To | Reset Your Home
The Christmas tree is down, the decorations boxed up for another year and the indulgence of December is over. Many of us view January as a chance to reset your head and set new goals for the year. Whilst a January reset typically focuses on personal health and well-being it can also apply to our personal space and what better way to step into the new year with a refreshed home interior space. Follow our below easy step-by-step guide to reset and enhance your living space:
1. Add Lighting
Lighting is essential to any space and perhaps after the Christmas tree lights have gone you have concluded that your living room could do with some extra light. Our Kora Floor Lamp is the perfect floor lamp for filling an empty space that the Christmas tree left behind. Originally cast from a beautiful piece of driftwood, this magnificent piece makes quite a statement in its sculptural form. Pair with one our linen lampshades to spread a diffused mood lighting across your room.
We are delighted to announce the launch of our Ariana and Nyla crystal table lamps that have been sandblasted to create an opaque finish with swirls and spots of colour within the crystal. When the light is on, this hand painted look and feel of the crystal art glass is quite magnificent and it creates such a beautiful ambience and radiant feel you won't notice the disappearance of the twinkling Christmas lights!
2. Have a Colour Revamp!
What better way to reset your interior space than updating your home with colour and we've got all the paint ideas you need in our Yeoward Paint Gallery. Whether you just want to refresh your walls and skirting boards or after an entirely new look, knowing what the key paint trends for the year ahead will guide you to making the most up to date choices. Read our previous article '2023 Colour Predictions' for some tips, tricks and insights into what paint colours are set to be hot for 2023…
A new paint colour can have an enormous effect on our happiness and well being, whether that is going bold and bright or keeping things neutral. Why not try sweeping the colour onto your ceiling for a whole new look or keep it tonal with a matching skirting board and door frames? Our advise, don't be afraid to go big and daring. Order a free paint colour card here and order some sample pots to try before your buy to ensure that colour is just right for you. If you're still unsure feel free to pop into our Kings Road store for a free paint colour consultation.
3. Uplift with Home Accessories
With the right accessories, you can alter the mood of a room in an instant. Switch out your cushions or indeed add an array of cushions to a space that feels a little empty. Add a throw to add textural layering and make your home feel cosy and lived in. It’s small swaps such as these that can help your home feel instantly refreshed.
4. Create a Welcome Entrance
A perfect way to refresh your living space is by creating a welcome entrance to your home. Start with a console table in your hallway. Our striking Tanjina Console Tables are available in an array of fabulous colour options matched perfectly to our own William Yeoward paint shades. Be careful not to over clutter your console, add a table lamp or candle to create welcome warmth and light or try one of our diffusers so you are hit by a welcome and familiar scent as soon as you enter your home. Scents are incredibly evocative and having a familiar scent is key to making a house feel like a home. Read more of scents around the home in our 'William Yeoward The Scented Home in Partnership with Victoria Cator' blog.
5. Organise and Reduce Clutter
Finally, decluttering and getting rid of items that are no longer used or needed can help to make a space feel more open and inviting. Our Morris Buffet in Grey Oak is the ultimate storage solution for bedrooms, kitchens and hallways. Instantly making your space feel organised, spacious and calm. Now you can sit back and relax in your new revamped living space ready to continue into 2023 as you mean to go on….
